Jigawa State Consumer Protection Committee Seized Bags of Adulterated Sesame and charged its owners to court for trial.

Chairman of the committee Alhaji Farouk Abdallah made this known to newsmen in Dutse.

He said the committee confiscated four bags of the adulterated commodity belonging to Adamu Mamman at Babura and charged him to court where he was fined fifty thousand naira and the commodity seized.

Alhaji Farouk Abdallah stated that one Abubakar Muhammad and Hassan Ibrahim were arrested with six bags of adulterated sesame, however, the suspect abandoned the commodity and ran off in the process of investigation.

He also said two and a half bags of adulterated sesame were intercepted from one Saminu Ibrahim Dan Budu and was fined fifty thousand naira by a mobile court.

According to him, one Aunty Ladin Kani was another convict for having in possession of five bags of adulterated sesame and also fined fifty thousand naira by the court.

Alhaji Farouk Abdallah said the state government has reviewed the law of adulteration which attracted a fine of one hundred thousand naira or a term of three years imprisonment.
