Jigawa leads other states in Covid-19 vaccination

The National Primary Health Care Development Agency (NPHCDA) says as of yesterday, over 15 million people had received the first jab of the COVID vaccine.

The agency shared the update today via its Facebook page.

According to the agency, 15 million 110 thousand 459 of total eligible persons targeted for COVID-19 vaccination reached with first dose while 5 million 574 thousand 696 of total eligible persons targeted for COVID-19 vaccination reached with second dose.

Jigawa state is currently in the lead, accounting for 1 million 846 thousand 483 of the doses administered, followed by Lagos state with 1 million 460 thousand 808 and Kano with 1 million 136 thousand 858.

The agency said the proportion of people who have received one dose of the vaccine in Nigeria represents 13.5 percent of the eligible population, while those who are fully vaccinated represents five percent.
