
Today in Abuja, Governor Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya, CON, joined his colleagues in the Progressive Governors Forum (PGF) to pay condolence visits to the National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and Kogi State Governor, Usman Ahmed Ododo following the recent losses of their beloved parents.
The PGF delegation, led by Imo State Governor, Senator Hope Uzodinma, was first at the residence of the APC National Chairman, whose mother, Mama Lydia Yilwatda recently passed away.
Speaking on behalf of his colleagues, Governor Uzodinma described the late matriarch as a pillar of strength whose influence extended far beyond her immediate family, adding that mothers are irreplaceable and serve as emotional anchors throughout life.
“As a Forum, we are deeply grieved, and we mourn with you over this great loss.The tributes we’ve read about your mother speak to the exceptional character and values she instilled. It is our hope that we give this great mother a befitting farewell.”
In his response, the National Chairman thanked the PGF for their solidarity, saying,
“Your presence gives me strength and confidence. I’m deeply indebted to you all for standing by me during this difficult time.
There’s no replacement for a mother. Her death was emotionally distressing, but your support reminds me of the bond we share as members of this great party. I pledge to work with you to strengthen and move the APC forward.”
The APC National Chairman also promised to keep the Forum updated on funeral arrangements for his late mother.
The PGF delegation also visited Kogi State Governor, Usman Ahmed Ododo, who recently lost his father, Alhaji Ahmed Momohsani Ododo.
The condolence visit took place at his residence in Abuja.
Governor Uzodinma, speaking on behalf of the Forum, expressed heartfelt sympathy to Ododo and his family.
“We are here to show solidarity with you as colleagues and friends over the passing of your dear father, our father.
Your father left a fulfilled man, having lived to witness your emergence as a Governor of Kogi State.
On behalf of our Forum and the entire APC family, we join you in mourning this great loss.”
Responding on behalf of the bereaved family, former Governor of Kogi State, Alhaji Yahaya Bello expressed appreciation for the visit, describing it as a clear show of love and unity.
“Your coming is a demonstration of genuine brotherhood and solidarity in the spirit of the APC family.
We deeply appreciate the unity within this great Forum, which has continued to grow stronger under the leadership of Governor Hope Uzodinma.”
Governor Inuwa Yahaya and his Akwa Ibom counterpart, Umo Eno led special prayers for the departed souls.
