Infrastructure Development: Kano Governor Engages Stakeholders on Tal’udu Overpass

In his urban renewal drive to meet the global standard of a mega city, Kano state governor Abba Kabir Yusuf has set the infrastructure performance bar at high level for the encient city in the northwestern geopolitical zone.

The governor has in 2024 flgged-off two major multi-paceted clover leave overpass/underpass bridges at Kofar Dan’agundi and Tal’udu roundabout both at Kano Municipal and Gwale Local Government areas.

The about thirty billion mega projects were set to achieve multiple purposes of urban beautification, decongestion of traffic and urban renewal.

In a statement by the governor’s spokesperson Mr. Sanusi Bature Dawakin Tofa, said the projects heading to completion in the new year 2025 have been well recieved by the good people of Kano state.

In a swift response to community outcry from the residents of Tal’udu, the governor has sermoned a stakeholders’ meeting last night to discuss issues releted to ongoing compensation of the affected neighbourhood.

During the meeting, Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf assured reasonable compensation of all affected residents in the project’s area.

The governor also announced provision of new layout of plots for the affected residents which would not be counted as part of the compensation plan.

While responding at the stakeholder engagement meeting, chairman of the community association Alhaji Abba Aminu Imam shared words of appreciation to the governor for his generocity and kindness.

At the end of the meeting, a joint committee was set up to revisit the ongoing compensation for the Tal’udu community.
