Alhaji Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri of Peoples Democratic Party has emerged winner of Adamawa Governorship election.
Fintiri polled 376,552 votes to defeat his closest rival Governor Jibrilla Bindow of APC who scored 336,386 votes.
Declaring the result on Thursday night in Yola after the supplementary election in 44 units across 14 LGA of the state, the returning officer Prof. Andrew Haruna said “Alhaji Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri of the PDP having satisfied the requirements of law, having scored the highest number of votes is hereby returned elected”
Haruna also announced that Sen. Abdulaziz Nyako of ADC scored 113,237 votes while Emmanuel Bello of SDP got 29,792 votes.
Fintiri served as the Acting Governor of the state in 2014 following the impeachment of the then Governor Admiral Murtala Nyako Rtd.
