This was during a virtual meeting with strategic police managers. The IGP reiterated the need for professionalism and adherence to ethical policing standards. The IGP emphasized that any act infringing on citizens’ rights would be met with strict disciplinary measures.
The statement added that, the IGP has also condemned reports of police misconduct received through the Force’s complaint channels, stressing that officers must respect human rights in all engagements, and cautioned tactical squads against misuse of power, improper dressing, and the unauthorized transfer of cases, which he described as unprofessional and detrimental to the justice system.
