Senator Solomon Adeola (Yayi), who represents Ogun West, has expressed his disappointment over the region’s ongoing struggle to have an Ogun State governor from their area, over 49 years since the state was formed. He referred to this situation as an “unjust and inequitable anomaly.”
At the opening of the Yewa Think Tank Secretariat in Ilaro, located in Yewa South Local Government, Adeola expressed, “You will agree with me that this is an unjust and unequitable anomaly. It is also crystal clear that this anomaly is not as a result of not presenting ourselves for service or indeed a result of lack of eminently qualified persons.
“Opinion differs on why we are at this anomalous situation of gross political injustice against our people in Ogun State.
“While I agree that internal and external factors may have conspired against our brothers and sisters that nursed the ambition and contested to lead our dear state in time past without success, it is nonetheless a political truism that political power is not serve “a la carte” and singular and fixated reliance on the goodwill of some of our brothers in other senatorial zones to actualize our dream will not get us to where we want to be.
“Going forward, I don’t expect anyone from Ogun West to be a bystander in the ongoing struggle for political power in Ogun State. Indeed, I look forward to a redoubling of our efforts at this time as the prize is within reach and achievable.”
