Hon. (Dr) Modibbo Bags Kurutya U Bem (Warrior of Peace) Award

A former member representing Yola South, Yola North and Girei federal constituency, Hon. (Dr) Abdulrauf Modibbo Girei has been conferred with the Kurutya U Bem (Warrior of Peace) award on Thursday evening at his Yola residence.

The award conferred on the young whiz kid politican by the Tiv Youths Peace Initiative, Benue state was a result of his outstanding contribution to the youth empowerment, his fight for peace, unity and advocacy for good governance and democracy.

The laurel bestowed on Hon. (Dr) Modibbo according to the National President of the association, Amb. Simon Tarna Anakaa is to promote a sustainable peace and development amongst youths and to create a better world for future generation.

Amb. Anakaa also urged Hon. (Dr) Modibbo to stand up for those suffering in the world and to make urgent progress towards a peaceful resolution adding that in doing so, the youths can give meaning to his peaceful vision of a “Reconciliation through Tolerance” that will act in the collective interest and fulfill every humans responsibilities not just in Adamawa but Nigeria as a nation.

According to the association Public Relations Officer, Mr AbdulAziz Isma’il the Tiv Youths Peace Initiative which is committed to peace and human security has over 100 Peace Ambassadors in more than 25 states within the country.

“After Hon Modibbo Girei was nominated, the association conducted an investigation and thorough research on his commitment towards fostering peace and he was found to be worthy of the year 2019 Kurutya U Bem award.” He added.
