GOVERNOR MATAWALLE CONDOLES HIS DELTA AND AKWA IBOM COUNTERPARTS

Governor Bello Mohammed, along with his Sokoto State counterpart, Rt. Hon. Aminu Waziri Tambuwal today, condole with the Governors of Delta, Ifeanyi Okowa and Akwa Ibom, Udom Emmanuel over recent losses of important personalities in their respective states.

The duo condoled Governor Okowa over the death of his father Sir Arthur Okorie Okowa  while the Governor of Akwa  Ibom was condoled for the passing away of an elder statesman in the state , Nsikak Eduok.

Governor Matawalle who was in Asaba and Uyo this afternoon for the condolences said the loss of these two important personalities dear to their people was an irreparable one to the Governors and their people and called on the people of the two states to bear the irreparable loss.

“I will on behalf of my people wish to condole with you over the irreparable loss of your patriarch. Indeed, it is a great loss, but it is a fulfilling journey for late Okowa as he has lived to see his handiwork into ultimate fruition. I urge you to immortalize him for posterity as you are what you are today because he sacrificed his yesterday”, Governor Matawalle counseled his Delta state counterpart.

In Uyo, Matawalle urged the Governor and the people of Akwa Ibom to bear the loss of Mr Nsikak.

“The deceased was an elderstatesman and a pillar to the political and social cohesion of this state. I am particularly glad that he has lived an accomplished life and has left a lesson for the younger ones to emulate” Governor Matawalle noted.

“On behalf of myself and the people of my state I extend to you our sympathy and solidarity in this trying moment” Governor Matawalle added.
