Rivers State Governor Nyesom Wike has banned the use of premises, buildings, and structures in residential areas in urban and non-urban areas as campaign offices by political parties without approval.
Commissioner for Information, Chris Finebone in a statement said the ban is contained in Executive Order 22 which has been signed by Governor Wike and came into effect on November 11. The statement said the Order also prohibits the posting of bills or posters or any other material in unauthorized places.
It further said that any political party or association or body of persons that wish to use any premises, building, or structure situated in a residential area in any urban area of Rivers State as a campaign office must obtain permission from the Rivers State Commissioner for Urban and Physical Planning.
