Gov Bindow declares for reelection, says achievements can stand for him.

Governor Muhammad Umaru Jibirilla Bindow of Adamawa State has today Saturday officially declared intention to run for a second term on the platform of the All Progressive Congress (APC) come 2019 general election.
Bindow made this know while addressing crowd of supporters at Mahmoud Ribadu Square,Yola while addressing a rally organized in his honor by Buhari/Bindow Campaign Organization, a political group galvanizing support for the reelection Buhari and Bindow in 2019.
The event which started at the Yola international airport where the governor was received by supporters amidst cheers and jubilations.

The governor who came back from Abuja where he submitted his nomination and expression of interest forms drove in convoy to the Adamawa state APC secretariat where he was received by the party executives, stakeholders and teeming supporters.
Speaking on behalf of the APC Excos and local government party chairperson of APC, the state chairman Alhaji Ibrahim Bilal reiterated their loyalty to Gov Bindow and unalloyed support towards his victory in the next year’s general elections.
“The State Working Committee and all other organs of the party down to wards level have bonded and pledged unalloyed loyalty to Governor Bindow”. Bilal said.
Bilal stated that whatever the mode of primary elections the national working committee of the party adopts, they will ensure Gov Bindow emerge victorious.
“Let me state without mincing words that Adamawa APC EXCO, from state to ward level, belong to Bindow. And in any case, we are ready, even if it will be by direct primaries; we’re not perturbed; we are well able to return Bindow.
“Governor Bindow stood by us and ensured our emergence during the last congresses therefore this, to us, is payback time; we’ll return Bindow whatever it would take.” He added.
Responding, Governor Bindow said he is confident of clinching the APC gubernatorial ticket, citing the caliber of political heavyweights in his camp.
Not oblivious of the fact that others within the party are working hard to unseat him, Gov Bindow said
“The challenge and fight against me were borne out of envy”.
Gov Bindow and his entourage then proceeded to Ribadu square, the main venue of the program where he addressed teeming supporters from nook and cranny of the state and pronounced intention to contest for a second term to command the welfare of Adamawa citizens.
Fomnina Times reports that the governor cited his achievements in the past three years as genuine proof to his commitment to deliver dividends of democracy to the people of Adamawa state.
“I want to thank all of you for this endorsement. It means a whole lot for me. I want to say if you are in this arena today it means you have endorsed me for a second term. And because you have endorsed me I declared to run. Gov Bindow said.
“Let me tell Nigerians all those things they are saying are all lies, Adamawa is APC, North-East Nigeria is APC, and there is no other party.
Gov Bindow admitted he is aware of all the things his traducers say against him but choose to turn deaf ears to them because ” I don’t join issues with people”
The event was graced by present and former elected government officials, political office holders, political office aspirants, pressure groups, associations and supporters across the 21 local government areas that make up the state.
