In a twist that may not be unconnected to Nigerian Politics, the Executive Secretary of the National Commission for Almajiri and Out of School Children (NCAOSC) Sha’aban Ibrahim Sharada has been replaced with another APC stalwart from Kano, Brigadier-General Lawal Jaafaru Isah (rtd).

It could be recalled, this paper reported during the build up to the 2023 general elecetions, Sharada distched Abdullahi Umar Ganduje’s All Progressive Congress when he was Kano state Governor for ADC in protest.

Sharada became a strong opposition to Ganduje’s monopoly of the APC before his cross-carpetting to ADC.

Yesterday, Mr. Sharada who conteated for Kano Governorship under ADC in 2023 announced his meeting with Ganduje, now the National Chairman of the APC.

The news of Jaafaru’s appointment was conveyed in a Statement by Mr. Ajuri Ngelale, the presidential spokesman.

The statement:

“President Bola Tinubu has approved the appointment of Brigadier-General Lawal Ja’afar Isa (Rtd) as Executive Secretary of the National Commission for Almajiri and Out-of-School Children Education.

“The President has also approved the appointment of Alhaji Tijani Hashim Abbas as Senior Special Assistant to the President on Chieftaincy Matters.

“General Ja’afar Isa is a respected leader and was Military Administrator of Kaduna State from 1993 to 1996, while Alhaji Tijani Hashim Abbas is the Sarkin Sudan Kano.

“The President anticipates that the new appointees will bring their vast experience into these important roles, which impact the very core of society, while ensuring that his administration’s drive to guarantee Nigeria’s out-of-school children the most comprehensive education is realized in the superceding interest of the nation’s future.”
