Kano State Government under Goveror Dr. Abdullahi Umar Ganduje has restricted the operations of commercial Tricycle, alias Adaidaita Sahu on some major roads within the state metropolis.

The directive was issued on Monday, in a statement, by Nabilusi Abubakar Kofar Na’isa, the Spokesman of Kano Road Traffic Agency (KAROTA).

The statement said the order would take effect from Wednesday, November 30th, 2022.

According to the statement, the tricycle operators, (Adaidaita Sahu drivers) are prohibited from plying Ahmadu Bello Way by Mundubawa road to Gezawa and Tal’udu road to Gwarzo.

The statement explained that the decision to restrict Tricycle operations on these major roads was designed to pave way for the smooth take-off of the ultra-modern buses and taxis acquired recently to boost Kano integrated transport system.

It said the new transport scheme would provide alternatives, as well as ease anticipated inconveniences the ban may pose to commuters on the affected routes.

The statement added that the ban would be extended to other routes within the city soon as it took delivery of more ultra-modern buses and taxis to boost the city transport.
