Chief of Staff to the President, Prof. Ibrahim Gambari Monday, inaugurated some key projects at the Nasarawa state University Keffi (NSUK).
Gambari lauded the management of the institution and Tertiary Education Trust Fund (TETfund) for initiating and funding the projects aimed at improving working and learning conditions.
“I commends TeTfund for proven to be a strong collaborator and a critical partner in providing strategic infrastructure in public tertiary Institutions across Nigeria,” he said.
The projects which was funded by TETfund through its 2020 Special High Impact Project Intervention to include: The University senate building at the main campus, Keffi and the central engineering workshop, faculty of Engineering at the Gudi campus in Akwanga LGA.
Gambari also inaugurated the World Health Organization/Uniklinikum Institute of Molecular Diagnostic and Infectious Disease Control, Keffi centre remodeled by Dr. Faisal Shuaib, Executive Director, National Primary Health Care Development Agency (NPHCDA).
He applauded governor Abdullahi Sule and the Nasarawa state government for the contributions they have made and continue to make to the growth and development of the university.
“The strongest legacy any government can bestow on its citizens is that of quality education. I have also learnt of the effort being made by the current governor which has culminatively reposition the University.
“I am happy to learn that governor Abdullahi Sule has recently approve the establishment of the faculty of engineering and the college of medicine and health sciences, in addition to taking over the payment of staff salaries, he said.
Speaking, Governor Sule lauded Sensor Abdullahi Adamu for the vision of creating the state University, adding with more support, NSUK will in future be one of best tertiary institutions in the country.
The governor also appreciated Shuaib for remodeling the WHO/Uniklinikum Institute, adding that in improving research in the health sector, Nasarawa state government has also established the state Infectious Diseases Diagnostic and Research Centre in Lafia inaugurated by Vice President Yemi Osinbajo.
