Jigawa state governor, Muhammad Badaru Abubakar has given the federal government the go ahead and take over the tallest national flag in Nigeria, as a national monument.
The national flag which has a 50-meter height is erected within the premises of the Malam Alu Agro-allied company in Birninkudu local government area of the state.
The Governor gave the go-ahead while responding to the requests put forward by the minister of information and Culture Alhaji Lai Mohammed after inspecting the flag.
While speaking, the governor appreciated the Minister for honoring the invitation and for the words of encouragement.
Earlier, the minister said the flag is not only the tallest in Nigeria but also the second tallest in Africa.
According to him, the national flag will be considered a symbol of patriotism and unity.
