The Federal Government has built a Veterinary Primary Healthcare Centre in Babura Local Government Area of Jigawa State to tackle transboundary animal diseases.
The Director of Veterinary Services, Federal Ministry of Agriculture and Natural Resources, Dr Abdullahi Haruna, said this today in Dutse, the state capital.
He told newsmen that the centre, sited at the border between Nigeria and the Niger Republic, was fully equipped with modern veterinary facilities.
The director said the centre will enhance good health for livestock and consumption of wholesome meat by people of the area, Jigawa state and Nigeria at large.
Abdullahi Haruna urged pastoralists and other livestock owners to utilize the health facility for their animals’ vaccination and other medical needs.
