FG MASS METERING OF BARRACKS: ARMY COMMENDS PROGRESS OF WORK

The Nigerian Army says the ongoing mass metering of barracks across the country has significantly enhance power supply and optimizes energy consumption management in barracks

The Chief of Army staff in a statement acknowledges progress of work in the phase one of the project which has so far covered installations of meters in Ikeja, Lagos, Abakpa in Enugu state and Adekunle fajuyi cantonments among other barracks in Abuja as it urges the contractor to expedite work on subsequent phases.

With the phase one nearing completion, the project generated 769 million naira in revenue between August 2024 and April 2025.

The initiative inaugurated in 2023 by the Minister of Power, Adebayo Adelabu Federal Government says it reflects broader efforts to resolve power deficits in critical sectors while fostering fiscal discipline through advanced metering solutions
