‘Do not leak classified information’, presidency warns state house staff

In an event to administer oath of secrecy to 42 staff of the state house, Tijjani Umar, Parmanent Secretary State house, warn staff of the Nigeria state house against divulging secret informtion and document to the public. 

Honourable Justice Hamza Muazu, a justice of Abuja Federal hight court administered the oath. The event took place at the auditorium of the State house – Abuja, today Tuesday. 

Describing the exercise Umar said, “This exercise is the beginning of doing what is right in various offices. The rules must be enforced and any breach carries a consequence. From now on, you are under the radar, we are going to watch and follow you,”

Umar further cautioned that the presidency would no longer tolerate act of disclosing classified informations that are meants for secrecy. This, according to him  are “secret and other document are ought not to be handled without due deligence.” 

“And the breach of such documents would take away from the delivery of service and that was the reason why we decided that we should do the needful by administering the oath of secrecy, and highlighting the import of letting them know what information they are managing, and then the consequences of the breach of such information.” Umar further said.
