The governor of Delta state, Dr. Ifeanyi Arthur Okowa, has on June 1st, 2919 commissioned a sickle cell referral centre in the state capital, Asaba.
The Centre was built and donated to Delta state government by the O5 Initiative, a Non Governmental Organization (NGO) controlled by the state’s First Lady, Mrs. Dame Edith Okowa.
The commissioning of the Centre, first of it’s kind in the history of Delta state, coincides with the First Lady’s 58th birthday.
Governor Okowa who personally commissioned the structures, has acknowledged and praised his First Lady for her relentless commitment to always positively impact the lives of Delta state people.
“If we can all make commitment to impact just one person’s life positively, that person can pay it forward, and in no time, we will have a country where many more people will be willing at all time to help one another”. He said in a tweet on Saturday.
