The new Commissioner of Police, Kaduna Police Command, Mr. Umar Muri, resumed duty in Kaduna.
The command’s Public Relations Officer, DSP Yakubu Sabo, made the disclosure in a statement issued in Kaduna.
The News Agency of Nigeria reports that Muri took over from Mr. Ali Janga, who was scheduled to attend the National Institute of Policy and Strategic Studies Kuru, near Jos, Plateau.
According to Sabo, Muri, who is the 38th commissioner of police in the state, hails from Muri in Karim Lamido Local Government Area of Taraba State.
He holds a Bachelor of Law degree from the University of Maiduguri, Borno State and Barrister at Laws from the Nigerian Law School, Lagos.
He served briefly as a legal adviser with the Nigerian Ports Authority before joining the Nigerian Police Force as Cadet Assistant Superintendent of Police on March 3, 1990.
