COMMANDANT DEPOT NIGERIAN ARMY INAUGURATES RECRUITS OF 87 REGULAR RECRUITS INTAKE FOR MILITARY TRAINING

The Commandant Depot Nigerian Army Major General Muhammed Aminu Abdullahi has inaugurated the Recruits of 87 Regular Recruits Intake for Military training. The event was held today, 8 August 2024 at the Regimental Sergeant Major Hama Kin Parade Ground Depot Nigerian Army Chindit Cantonment Zaria Kaduna State.

In his Inauguration address, the Depot Commandant congratulated the recruits for being successful in the selection process and further charged them to brace up for their military training, which he described as requiring energy, endurance and performance. He further stated, “In line with your training program, lecture pamphlets have been produced to ease your understanding. Therefore, you must take notes and participate actively in all training activities”.

Maj Gen Abdullahi admonished the Recruits to take instructions seriously at all times, as Depot Nigerian Army has competent and ready Instructors that will mould them into professional soldiers of the Nigerian Army. He added that their training will cover physical and endurance skills, Weapon handling, Basic Field Craft, Minor Tactics, drills, Regimentation, Signal Communication, Military Law and others.

The Commandant noted that he is aware of the challenges of the Recruits which have been adequately handled, while promising to solve other challenges as they unfold.

Maj Gen Muhammed Abdullahi admonished the Recruits to always remember that they are subject to the Military and Civil laws of the land. And that any Recruit found wanting will be prosecuted by the law. He further reminded them that they were forbidden from leaving that Barracks perimeter throughout their training in the Depot Nigerian Army.

The high point of the event was the taking of the oath of allegiance by the Recruits to the Commander in Chief and the Nigerian Army.

In attendance at the Inauguration Ceremony were the Chief of Staff Headquarters Depot Nigerian Army Colonel Muhammed Tafida, the Commander Recruits Center Lieutenant Colonel Ayuba Audu, the Chief Instructor Training Branch Lieutenant Colonel Luke Adejo and a host of other Senior Officers, officers and soldiers of the Institution.
