Chief Justice summons 6 Judges Over Conflicting Orders

Justice Tanko Mohammad, the Chief Justice of Nigeria who is also the chairman of the National Judicial Council, NJC has summoned 6 chief judges of Rivers, Kebbi, Cross River, Anambra, Jigawa, and Imo States to an emergency meeting. 

The meeting stem from various conflicting exparte orders judges issued in various areas of their jurisdiction. 

Soji Oye, spokesman of the NJC confirmed that letter was sent inviting the judges but denied telling specific date for the meeting. 

The letter of invitation dated 30th of August, 2021, the CJN summoned the head of the concerned courts to the emergency meeting to brief him on the frequent granting of the conflicting and embarrassing orders on suits by different political parties before the various courts.
