The Kaduna state Governor, Nasir El-rufai on Monday appointed Alhaji Bashir Saidu as the new commissioner of Finance in the state

Alhaji Saidu is amongst the 13 commissioners cleared by the Kaduna State House of Assembly in 2015, as a commissioner for local government in the first cabinet. He was later on appointed as Chief of Staff in December 2016.

According to the statement, Alhaji Saidu is to restructure and reposition the Ministry of Finance within the shortest possible time, addressing the core challenges of the first tenure to ensure a swift, decisive and success of second tenure of Nasir Elrufai’s administration.

“Alhaji Saidu will be assisted in that task by Mr. Idris Samaila Nyam, the erstwhile Permanent Secretary in the ministry, who was appointed as Accountant-General. Umar Waziri, the former Accountant-General, becomes Managing Director of the Kaduna Investment and Finance Company. The most senior director in the ministry will act as Permanent Secretary until further notice.” Says Aruwan.
