President Muhammadu Buhari has directed the nation’s security chiefs to eliminate the threats of bandits and kidnappers along Abuja to Kaduna Road in particular and other places across the country.
The Minister of Interior, Rauf Aregbesola, announced this yesterday at the end of the National Security Council meeting presided over by the President at the Presidential Villa, Abuja.
In attendance are Vice President Yemi Osinbajo, Chief of Staff to the President, Professor Ibrahim Gambari; National Security Adviser, Major General Babagana Monguno and the Chief of Defence Staff, General Leo Irabor.
The three service chiefs of the Army, Navy and Air Force as well as the Inspector General of Police, Usman Alkali Baba, are also attending the meeting.
Aregbesola said the president ordered the armed forces and other security agencies, intelligence organizations, not to rest on their oars, notwithstanding the progress and efforts being made to eliminate insurgency, banditry, kidnapping for ransom, and all the other criminalities.
