President Muhammadu Buhari has commiserated with families who have lost loved ones in the 22-storey building collapse in Lagos, while some are still trapped.
A statement by the president’s spokesman, Femi Adesina, yesterday in Abuja, said President Buhari shared the sad moment with people and Government of Lagos State, urging authorities to step up efforts in rescue operations.
He called on emergency institutions, including hospitals, to provide all the necessary support to safeguard the lives of the rescue.
Meanwhile, President Muhammadu Buhari does not support crimes or impunity against Journalists in Nigeria.
Special Adviser to Buhari on Media and Publicity, Femi Adesina, made this known at a Policy Dialogue on Protection of Journalists in commemoration of 2021 International Day to end Impunity for crimes against Journalists, in Abuja.
Adesina maintained that journalism and transparency were two essential components of democracy as one could not survive without the other.
