Bill Gates, the Chair of the Gates Foundation, is scheduled to visit Nigeria this week. During his visit, he will meet with President Bola Tinubu and other senior officials to discuss reforms in the country’s primary health care system.

His visit follows his announcement of a commitment to donate $200 billion via his foundation over the next two decades.

He will take part in a Goalkeepers Nigeria event centered on Africa’s advancements, where he will connect with scientists and collaborators who are developing AI strategies and expanding health solutions.

Yesterday, he pledged his latest promise to African leaders at the African Union House in Addis Ababa.

In a statement from the foundation’s Media Manager, it was highlighted that the chair of the Gates Foundation called on African leaders to speed up advancements in health and development by fostering innovation and collaboration.

At the meeting held in Addis Ababa, Gates reassured the leaders about a $200 billion commitment, emphasizing the importance of prioritizing people’s health and well-being.

He stated that over the coming twenty years, the foundation plans to collaborate with partners to achieve three main objectives: to eliminate avoidable deaths of mothers and infants, to ensure the new generation is free from fatal diseases, and to help lift millions of people out of poverty.
