Following the decision of the Northern Governors’ Forum to repatriate Almajiris to their home states, no fewer than 904 Almajiris have been received in Bauchi State.
Also, a total of 819 were repatriated from Bauchi to various states across the northern part of the country.
Bauchi State Commissioner for Education, Dr. Aliyu Tilde, who is in charge of the Almajiris in the State Task Force for COVID-19 and Lassa fever, disclosed this while giving a brief to the state Governor, Bala Mohammed, at the Government House.
He said that the 904 were received from Kano, Gombe, Plateau, Kaduna, Katsina, Nasarawa, Jigawa, Yobe and other northern states.
He said his committee had been successful in receiving back to the state and repatriating the Almajiris to their home states, except in Taraba, which refused to accept the repatriated Almajiris.
