Bandits have kidnapped a newlywed bride and four bridesmaids in Sabon Birni Local Government Area of Sokoto State.
The attack occurred on Saturday in Kwaren Gamba, near Kuka Teke, a village frequently targeted by armed groups linked to Bello Turji.
Eyewitnesses said the gunmen stormed the area and abducted the victims, causing panic among residents.
A security source, Zagazola Makama, said the community is in shock. Families of the abductees are devastated, with a local elder stating, “The situation is unbearable, and our people are losing hope.”
Days ago, bandits killed at least 10 people in Sokoto State. The terrorists attacked Dantudu Lajinge village, killing nine members of the local vigilante group and abducting their wives. A villager, Bello Dan-Tudu, said, “They slaughtered nine of them like ordinary rams.”
Another resident reported that the 10 people were shot in the neck, with one surviving. The Chairman of Sabon Birni Local Government Council, Ayuba Hamisu, confirmed the attack and deaths.
