The Minister of State for Housing and Urban Development, Yusuf Ata, has stated his commitment to ensuring the All Progressives Congress (APC) reclaims Kano State in the 2027 general elections.
Addressing journalists upon his arrival in Kano on Sunday, Ata mentioned his intention to support President Bola Tinubu’s housing agenda while strengthening APC’s political presence in Kano Central.
Ata acknowledged Kano Central’s large voter base as significant to the party’s goals.
“This appointment is for the citizens of Kano State and Nigeria,” he stated. “I assure the President that, God willing, Kano State will be an APC stronghold in 2027.”
The minister outlined plans to complete ongoing projects under his ministry as part of Tinubu’s housing program.
Ata, who has held roles as Speaker and Majority Leader in the Kano State House of Assembly, expressed confidence in his ability to make progress.
“Kano Central has the highest vote. It has 65% of the registered voters and previously lacked a major appointment,” he explained. “With my appointment, I am determined to be present in my ward and constituency to strengthen our political base.”
