Agric Radio Calls for Gov’t Support to Farmers, Rural Dwellers

Zuma Agric Radio 88.5 FM has joined the global community in commemorating World Food Day on October 16, 2024, at its station located at Maje High Point, Suleja. The event drew farmers from neighboring communities and numerous listeners spanning Abuja, Kogi, Kaduna, and Niger states, emphasizing the importance of agriculture in today’s economic landscape.

In an address, Kere Ahmed- the CEO of Zuma Agric Radio highlighted the urgent need for increased government support for farmers and rural dwellers amidst ongoing economic hardships. “Farming is not just a livelihood; it is a way of life for many in our region. We need more robust policies and support systems from the government to empower our farmers and secure food sovereignty,” the CEO stated.

The event served as a platform to educate local farmers on modern techniques of poultry farming, equipping them with essential knowledge to enhance productivity and sustainability. The management of Zuma Agric Radio utilized this occasion to emphasize the significance of innovation in agriculture, aligning with the World Food Day theme: “Right to Food for a Better Life and a Better Future.”

Attendees were treated to a banquet provided by Chicken Republic, highlighting the importance of nutritious food in promoting health and well-being.
