After public outcry Matawalle pays students’ NECO fee, urge board to negotiate previous results

Zamfara state governor Bello Muhammad Matawalle has approaved the payment of 2022 secodary school leaving examinations for the National Examination Council (NECO) in the state.

The development however came after public outcry over the non registration of any student in the state due to inability of the government to pay its dues.

A statement by the Executive Secretary, Zamfara State Examination Board on Tuesday also urged for hastened negotiation between for the release of previous results withheld by the NECO.

Hajiya Zuwaira Abdu Gusau, the executive secretary noted that “about 16,238 registered candidates are expected to sit for the exams this year,” after the approved payment.

“His Excellency has also mandated the Board to speed of negotiations for the release of previous results,”
