
Sidi Ould Tah from Mauritania has been elected as the president of the African Development Bank.
Tah prevailed over four other candidates after three rounds of voting, becoming the 9th president of this pan-African institution for a term of five years.
The election was decided in just three rounds, where Sidi Ould Tah received 76.18% of the votes, surpassing Zambia’s Samuel Maimbo, who garnered 20.26%, and Senegal’s Amadou Hott, who received 3.55%.
He succeds Dr. Akinwumi Adesina of Nigeria who successfully finished his two terms as the President of the Bank.
