The Jigawa State Government have been ranked as the best in Nigeria in terms of budget transparency by the World Bank.
The Governor of Jigawa State Alhaji Muhammad Badaru Abubakar disclosed this after he signed the 2020 appropriation bill at the state Government house in Dutse, the State Capital of Jigawa.
According to him, Jigawa was ranked the best having scored 87 percent with Kaduna state as the second contender with only 60 percent points.
The Governor also commended the speaker of the state house of Assembly, Alhaji Idris Garba Kareka, and the entire members of the state assembly for the speedy passage of the bill.
He added that the budget has recorded a speedy passage in the history of Jigawa will receive a quick implementation beginning from the first of January 2020. It was reported that Jigawa state House of Assembly yesterday passed the 2020 state government’s appropriation bill of over 152.920 billion naira and that of the twenty-seven local government councils of more than 72.805 billion naira into law
