Bauchi govt to establish Petroleum Studies, Skill Acquisition Institute

Bauchi state government has approved the establishment of Petroleum studies and skill acquisition Institute in the state.

The approval was made by the Executive governor of Bauchi state, His Excellency Bala Muhammad on Wednesday.

The Governor through his Spokesperson, Dr. Ladan Salihu, said the Institute which is expected in Alkaleri Town of Alkaleri local government area, will not only train and produce requisite professionals to service the oil industry, it will also teach relevant skills to support various aspects of infrastructure development in the state and beyond.

He said the Institute will be formed by the state government in collaboration with Abubakar Tafawa Belewa University, the state owned university, and the Federal University of Petroleum Effurum Delta state.

“This was the outcome of His Excellency’s visit to and discussion with The Tertiary Education Fund and the Group Managing Director of the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation, NNPC.” Said the Governor’s Spokesperson in a statement released to journalists on Wednesday.
