LETTER: Kano, Ganduje, and first class emirs

266
Gov. Abdullahi Ganduje

BY JAMILU BELLO DOGARAWA

Dear Sir,

Permit me some space in your widely read online newspaper, Sky Daily, to express my feelings and Opinion on the four (4) traditional Chiefs that were just created by the Kano State Assembly and hurriedly signed it into law by the Governor Abdullahi Umar Ganduje. Let me start by saying that I am an ardent supporter of APC at both national, state, and local levels, and also due to the nature of today’s rain of affliction politics, I used to be an analyst on the current state of the nation.

As I quote the Governor of KANAWAS on channel television that everybody is entitled to his or her opinions, I will not bench mark my feelings towards the creation of four more emirates that consists RANO, BICHI, GAYA and KARAYE in Kano state.

Your Excellency Sir, you are the chief executive of the entire Kanawas and the prime-mover of the state affairs but due to the nature of the Kano State politics and the current dimension you should have hold on in this matter because of the dynamic nature of Kano politics. I have no doubt that you are doing great to Kano as a governor and I think you should have used your bunch of experiences to generate more supportive and favorable government policies than otherwise. You have to be diplomatic enough in executing your development initiatives in the state.

The speed with which the four emirates were hurriedly created in Kano is now one of the most discussed topics in the country; and everyone has seen it as one of the new turns of just concluded governorship elections in Kano. So many things happen during and after the election but the results declared shows that APC in Kano state got a landslide victory for another four years under the leadership of Governor Ganduje despite the fact that the joint venture of  political opponents in the state particularly the PDP has played a brighter role which almost kick APC out of Kano Government House.

Many people like me saw the creation of four more emirates as a calculative attempt to get revenge from a political faction. I doubt much on Governor Ganduje’s attempt in doing so will bring out a fruitful result especially between him and his former boss Senator Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso and the teaming political enemies in the State and beyond. As a matter of caution, Kano politics, traditional rule etc is quite different from other states in the north! To some extent no one else is perfect and in whatsoever we are doing we have to do it well and wisely.
