Concerned about the dilapidated state of infrastructure at Government Secondary School (GSS) Kwankwaso, Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf has ordered a multi-million naira renovation project at the school.
In a statement issued by the Governor’s spokesperson, Sanusi Bature Dawakin-Tofa, the directive was issued on Saturday during an unscheduled visit to the school.
Sanusi stated that the Governor specifically instructed the Commissioners for Education and Works to ensure the immediate commencement of the renovation.
Governor Yusuf, who was accompanied by top government officials, reiterated his administration’s commitment to improving the condition of public schools across the state.
He directed the renovation of key facilities at the school, including the kitchen cabinet, dining hall, classrooms, toilets, and the repair of the dilapidated perimeter fence.
Additionally, the Governor ordered the immediate recruitment of more teaching staff to enhance teaching and learning at the college.
With the current student population exceeding 600, the Governor expressed optimism that the planned renovations would further boost enrollment.
