
The Borno state Governor, Babagana Umara Zulum has applauded the federal government for the prompt response to the security situation at Marte through the deployment of soldiers and equipments to secure the areas.
The Governor stated this during a follow up visit back to Marte five days after the resettlement visit.
Governor Zulum’s second visit to Marte was for on the spot assessment of the community following the voluntary return of the residents after displacement in the wake of the attack on Army formation.
Social and economic lives have fully resumed as attested to by the returnees.
Governor Zulum who met with the military personnel and volunteers in Marte during the assessment visit expressed joy at the new lease of life in the community, expressing gratitude to the federal authorities and security forces.
Marte is an agrarian community in northern Borno strategic to resuscitation of agricultural activities on the fringes of lake chad.
