Serial killer surrender self to police in Kano

A 20-year-old self acclaimed serial killer, Umar Auwal, alias ‘Abba Dujal’ on Tuesday revealed his large-scale criminal activities, including murder of innocent residents in Kano metropolis.

He made the confession after he surrendered himself to the Wudil divisional police headquarters, Wudil in Kano State.

Abba Dujal is said to be a known notorious criminal with record of sexual assult and phone snatching in his Wudil community, there were no record of complaint against him.

However, the suspect who reported himself to the police, revealed three incidences where he personally stabbed innocent persons with sharp knife and dispossessed the victims of their valuables.

The suspect, who disclosed that he began his nefarious act at the age of 13 years old, revealed however, that he watch his father committing series of crimes, including raping women in the community.

Abba Dujal added that he has been sharing the proceeds of his criminal loots with his father, who he claimed had never bothered to question the sources of his ill-gotten wealth.

The Kano State Police Command said the suspect was compelled to report himself to the police after regretting his act.

Police spokesperson, Abdullahi Haruna Kiyawa, said the suspect confessed his involvements in different cases of culpable homicide, armed robbery, motorcycle and phone snatching in different parts of the state and Jigawa State.

“At Sabon Gari Quarters, Kano, He confessed to have stabbed one ‘Boka’ to death and stole his Infinix Hot 40i mobile phone, which he sold for N40,000. At Kurna Quarters, Kano, he also confessed to stabbing another person to death and stealing his Samsung S26 phone,
which he sold for N160,000,” Kiyawa said.

“In Jigawa State, Abba Dujal confessed to killing a man in Ringim LGA and stealing his motorcycle, which he sold for N300,000.

“The suspect is currently in custody at the Command’s Homicide Section, Criminal Investigation Department (CID) for detailed investigation into the veracity of his confessions and further necessary actions.”
