The Governor of Kano, Abba Kabir Yusuf has inaugurated a committee under his Commissioner for Higher Education for the implementation of local scholarship accross tertiary institutions in Nigeria for Masters degree programmes.
The government disclosed that beneficiaries will be provided with tuition fees, accommodation, feeding and allowances for the entire programme.
The members of the committee are as follows:-

- Special Adviser, Higher Education.
- Special Adviser, Diaspora
- Special Adviser, Students Matters
- Director General, Media
- PPS to His Excellency
- PS , Ministry for Higher Education
- SSA, Students Matters
- Director Special Duties, Kano Scholarship Board
- Director Schools, Kano State Scholarships Board.
- Director Admin and General Services, Ministry for Higher Education
- Director Academic Planning, Research and Statistics, Ministry for Higher Education.
- Representative from SSG’s office.
- Representative from Ministry of Justice.
- Dr. Kabiru Ya’u from Scholars.
- Dr. Ibrahim Musa (Consultant Hematologist)
- Executive Secretary, Kano State Scholarship Board as Secretary.
- Senior Special Assistant to His Excellency on Foreign Scholarship as Assistant Secretary.
