The National Youth Service Corps has said it would continue to ensure that Corps Members are empowered for self development and wealth creation.

It stated that the Scheme’s Skill Acquisition and Entrepreneurship Development programme was set up to reduce the increasing rate of unemployment among graduate youths in the country.

The NYSC Director General, Brigadier General YD Ahmed stated this during the unveiling of a tripartite arrangement between NYSC, NNPC Foundation and Kudimata, whereby Corps Members would be exposed to an online training tagged; “kick-starting my business”.

The 8 module training programme would be followed by an online test after which successful candidates would be given starter packs to start their businesses.

Ahmed said the Scheme would continue to engage different stakeholders to provide financial literacy and business grants to Corps Members so as to boost their businesses.

In her remarks, the Managing Director of NNPC Foundation, Emmanuela Arukwe said the foundation decided to offer financial literacy to the Corps Members in order to empower them for self employment and also boost the economic development of the country.
