Army Recruitment: Gov. Zulum Okays Over 10 million to Borno Candidates

The Borno state governor Prof. Babagana Umara Zulum has on wednesday visited Maimalari barracks in Maiduguri to see himself, the on-going Army recruitment exercise that is at the final stage taking place nationwide.

During the visit while addressing the candidates, Gov. Zulum disclosed that he has approved 12.8 million naira as support for the 641 Borno state indigent candidates currently at the final stage of the recruitment.

Also Gov. Zulum approved N15,000 monthly allowance to the candidates. Remarking the bravery and sacrifice of the candidate, Gov. Zulum said “I commend your patrotism for choosing to enlist into the Army.”

The candidates hail from the Borno state’s 27 local government, thus Zulum admonished them to represent the state positively.

“as citizens of Borno, I advise that you should be good ambassadors of our state.” Gov. Zulum added. 

As last phase of the recruitment excercise, the candidates would soon leave Borno for Falgore game reserve in Kano for their medical and fitness exercise before finally recruited into the Nigeria Army.
