A cross-section of the social media especially Facebook is made agog as tension brews after an online news medium Sahara Reporters make headline that infringe the Muslim faithfuls.
In a report filed by Sahara reporters on Afenifere; a pan-Yoruba socio-cultural group, the news medium reported the group to have compared Sunday Igboho with the revered prophet of Islam Muhammad (PBUH).
Reactions expressed by muslims on the social media platform has generates traffic with a campaign to unfollow and block Sahara reporters facebook page getting momentum.
A facebook user and communications scholar Salisu Uba Kofar wambai lamented how news editors allow such unguarded reports passed through their tables which negate ethic and principles of journalism of promoting peace and stability.
Sahara reporters later deleted the report with no further clarification.
