The Kano state governor Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, has directed all political appointees in the state willing to run for elective offices in the forthcoming 2023 general elections to resign from their respective positions.
This was contained in a statement issued in the state capital, Kano by Abba Anwar; Chief Press Secretary to the Governor.
The directive said “They are given between now to Monday 18th April, 2022, to resign.”
Anwar added that the order was given “to comply with Section 84 (12) of the newly amended Electoral Act.”
