The Deputy President of the Senate, Senator Barau I. Jibrin, has received Alhaji Sani Abdulkadir Dambo, a key aide of the Kano State Governor, into the All Progressives Congress (APC) from the New Nigeria People’s Party (NNPP).
Dambo, a two-time Chairman of the Kano State Board of Internal Revenue, announced his decision to leave the NNPP and join the APC during a visit to Senator Barau at his Abuja residence on Monday.
Appointed as Special Adviser on Investment by Kano State Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf on August 13, Dambo officially declared his move to the APC.
“I belonged to this house before joining the NNPP, but now I am back in the APC. We will continue to support this journey and remain committed to the APC in Kano and at the national level,” Dambo stated.
In a similar development, Alhaji Rabiu Alhassan Durum, a notable figure in the NNPP from Kabo Local Government Area, Kano State, has also defected to the APC.
Senator Barau, while receiving both politicians, acknowledged their decision to join the APC. He emphasized the party’s focus on addressing national challenges and aligning with its principles.
