The Kano State Government has acquired 10 heavy-duty trucks to boost waste management in the state.

The state’s Commissioner for Environment, Dr. Kabiru Getso, made this known while inspecting the trucks at the Kano State Environmental Management Agency (KASEMA) headquarters.

Getso stated that the acquisition of the trucks was part of the state government’s efforts to ensure a clean and healthy environment.

He explained that the trucks would be deployed to major areas of the metropolis to collect and dispose of waste regularly.

The commissioner added that the state government had also employed over 100 sanitation vanguards to monitor and enforce cleanliness in the state.

Getso urged residents to support the government’s efforts by properly disposing of their waste and reporting any cases of indiscriminate waste disposal.

He also warned that the government would not hesitate to prosecute anyone caught dumping waste indiscriminately.

The commissioner commended the state governor, Abdullahi Ganduje, for his commitment to ensuring a clean and healthy environment in the state.
