The minister of works and housing, Babatunde Fashola, has said the federal government is returning tolling to the Lagos-Ibadan expressway upon completion of the rehabilitation of the highway.
In an interview on Channels Television on Sunday, the minister said about three toll plazas were expected on the highway.
While projecting the completion of the road rehabilitation to December 2022, the former governor of Lagos State said a toll plaza was expected each in the Lagos, Ogun (Ogere) and Ibadan parts of the road when completed.
He noted that the Oyo state government was constructing a drainage facility around the Ojoo part of the road, which, according to him, had significantly slowed down the pace of work in that area.
“The completion date now will be the last month of this year. We are hoping that will be done before Christmas.
“As we speak now somewhere between Ojo, the Oyo State government is constructing a drainage facility so, that has slowed down our work considerably inspite of the fact that the contractoris now working night,” he said.
