Banditry: Military conducts house to house search, Arrest 17 residents in Zamfara

Ibrahim Zauma, new media assistant to Zamfara State governor Bello Matawalle has told newsmen that in Dansadau village of Maru local government, 17 villegers were arrested after a house to house search was conducted. 

The villagers, according to Zauma were arrested base on alleged complicity with bandits. 

“The information is still scanty but direct information from the scene has it that the security personnel are conducting a rigorous house to house arrests of suspects following intelligence reports they received.” he said. 

Also confirming the development, Hon. Kabiru Dansadau representing Maru south at Zamfara State House of Assembly, said, the arrest was made after a search operation by the military operatives stationed in the town due to an increasing of unrest reported in the area. 

It could be remembered that Dansadau village recently came under intense attack by bandits. Last week Friday, bandits have invaded the town around 2:00am and succeeded in abducting 15 people according to reports.
