BREAKING: Senate passes Bill to establish Federal University of Agriculture Jalingo

The Senate on Tuesday, February 23, 2021 has successfully passed the Bill for the establishment of Federal University of Agriculture, in Jalingo, Taraba state capital. 

The Bill numbered HB-750 was among the few speedily passed Bills in the history of the Red Chamber. 

Senator Shuaibu Isa Lau, the Senator representing the good people of Taraba North senatorial District was among the key players on successful passage of the Bill during the Senate Plenary on Tuesday. 

Subsequently,  the Senate President, Ahmed Lawan, has mandated that the Bill be prepared and transmitted to President Muhammadu Buhari for his final accent.

Recalled that the Bill, originally sponsored by Dr. Aminu Ibrahim Malle, the then member representing the good people of Jalingo-Yorro-Zing in the House of Representatives and now Chief of Staff to the Deputy Speaker of the Green Chamber, was first read on the floor of the Green Chamber on Wednesday, 21 March 2018.

“Alhamdulillah!!!.This week Sunday 21st Feb., 2021 precisely when I was addressing the press shortly after the revalidation of my APC membership card, a journalist asked of the faith of a Bill to establish Federal University of Agriculture Jalingo and I assured the general public in my response that by Tuesday this week 23rd Feb., 2021, it will be table for first and second readings and Alhamdulillah it didn’t only end there but the effort of Sen. Shuaibu Isa Lau, Senator Representing Taraba North Senatorial District has yielded consideration of the Bill and subsequently it’s passage after the third reading.” Dr. Malle said in a Facebook post on Tuesday while announcing the success of the Bill to the public. 

He added that while it’s unavoidable for all to celebrate and congratulate each other on such a giant stride, all should be steadfast in prayers for the final assent of Mr. President.

“We will put our heads together to intensity the lobby. Slowly but surely as I kept saying, it ll surely come to pass. May Allah SWT make it easy for us. Once again congratulations in advance.” He added.
