Police Stop Miyatti Allah Cattle Breeders Association From Conducting Elections In Jigawa State

The Jigawa State Police Command has stopped the Fulani herders’ socio-cultural association, popularly known as Miyatti Allah Cattle Breeders Association of Nigeria, Jigawa State chapter from conducting elections of new officers.

The national president of the association, Alhaji Kiruwa Kebbi, who was supervising the process and conduct of the election, has been invited by the state Commissioner of Police, Alhaji Umar Sule Gomna over election matter.

The president was invited while addressing the large crowd of Fulani ahead of the conduct of the election at the conference hall of the Manpower Development Institute.

Alhaji Kiruwa stopped the address and moved to the police headquarters under the escort of two armed Hilux full of armed men.

Our correspondent who was at the venue reports that the organizers of the election may have not received permission from the command.

When contacted, the spokesperson of the command, SP Abdu Jinjiri confirmed the invitation extended to the president of Fulani association, adding that the association did not inform the police about the election.
