Nigerian Correctional Service arrests a visitor to the Medium Security Custodial Centre, Kano State


Kano State Command of the Nigerian Correctional Service has arrested a visitor, name withheld, to the Medium Security Custodial Centre, Kano State.

The female visitor was said to be allegedly attempting to smuggle illegal substance into the center.

The Command’s Deputy Superintendent of Corrections, Mr. Musbahu Lawan, who disclosed this in a statement in Abuja, said the substance was suspected to be Diazepam tablets.

Lawan said that the 20-year-old suspect from Hotoro Quarters, Nassarawa Local Government Area of Kano State was intercepted with drugs worth 300 thousand naira while attempting to smuggle it into the center.

He said that the substance was concealed in a soup that was meant for an awaiting trial inmate of the center.
